Prerequisites
• Strong writing skills
• Basic computer skills, especially word processing
at the intermediate level
• Ability to conduct research
Certification Requirements
Students must take a total of 90 hours of classes to qualify
for the certificate. All 90 hours must be taken at BCC
and must include:
• Fundamentals of Technical Writing (15 hours)
• A minimum of 45 hours chosen from the courses
below
• 30 hours of electives chosen from relevant technical
writing or computer-related courses
• A portfolio, which will be developed as part of
the program.
