Catherine Dovey, CCP, SPHR,
has worked in human resources for 20 years, with compensation
and pay systems as her primary specialties. She has designed
and managed job evaluation systems, incentive plans, performance
management systems and base pay compensation programs.
Catherine’s experience includes union and non-union
environments in both private and public sector organizations.
She has a Master’s of Business Administration from
Washington State University and has a BS in Business from
Central Washington University. Catherine has attained
the Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation
through WorldatWork (formerly the American Compensation
Association), and has her Senior Professional in Human
Resources (SPHR) designation through the Human Resource
Certification Institute (HRCI). Catherine won the Distinguished
Member Award from NHRMA in 2004. She is presently on the
national Total Rewards Panel for SHRM, and is a member
of the Board of Directors of the Northwest Human Resource
Management Association (NHRMA). Catherine has served on
numerous local, regional, and national human resources
boards including the HRCI Western Region Item Writing
Panel. Catherine also teaches Compensation for the Human
Resource Certificate program at Portland State University,
Metrics and Advanced Compensation at Bellevue Community
College, and HR classes at the University of Washington.
Peggy Elston has 20 years management
experience, responsible for Human Resources functions
for national and international organizations. She currently
is a consultant, working on special projects and recruiting
for local companies. Peggy has a M.S. in Human Resources
from Chapman University in Orange, CA and a B.A. from
Antioch College in Yellow Springs, OH. She is a PHR (Professional
in Human Resources) and a CCP (Certified Compensation
Professional), and has a Graduate Certificate in Organizational
Leadership from Chapman University.
James Hopkins has a varied background
in law including General/Commercial, Employment, and Construction.
James is a practicing attorney and is an Adjunct Professor
of Law at Seattle Pacific University. He’s written
numerous articles and publications in the area of human
resources. James has a J.D. from the University of Puget
Sound, did Graduate Studies in Economics and received
his B.A. from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Linda Jack has 18 years experience in
Human Resources, as a Corporate Trainer, High Tech Recruiter,
and Management Consultant. A former business owner, she
has worked for multi-national corporations, non-profits,
and is currently the HR Manager for a bio-tech firm. Jack
trains adult learners in human resources, management development,
motivation, recruiting and staffing, diversity, and career
development. She has a M.A. from The School for International
Training in Brattleboro, VT and a B.A from the University
of California.
Lynne A. Lazaroff has over twenty years
of progressive international experience in leadership
development, performance consulting, and organizational
development. Areas of recent concentration include 360-degree
feedback processes, coaching, change management, continuous
learning environments, team building, identification of
current and future performance competencies, time management,
and leadership development processes. Her recent clients
include Paccar, Inc., T-Mobile, Milgard Manufacturing,
Microsoft Corp., Western Wireless, the City University,
Olympic Cascade Services, Inc., and the City of Bellevue.
Lynne is a graduate of the University of Maryland and
did graduate work in Human Resources Development at the
George Washington University. She received her Master
of Science degree in Managing for Organizational Effectiveness
from the Marymount University. Lynne has also conducted
post-graduate work at the American University in Strategic
Human Resource Management. Lynne is certified in the use
of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), the Personal
Insights Profiles (DISC and PIAV), and the Managerial
Assessment of Proficiencies (MAP).
Renée Mangini has worked in and human resources
for over 14 years and is currently consulting and instructing
in all functional areas of human resources. She is a HR
business partner who is effective in promoting the efficiency
and profitability of organizations. Renée is innovative
and skilled at creating solutions for complex business
problems and change management. She is recognized for
vision, strategic planning, organizational design/development,
and tactical implementations. Her experience includes
union and non-union environments in both private and public
sector organizations.
Renée has a BS in Business Administration with
a specialization in HR Management, Organizational Behavior,
and Development and a minor in Business and Professional
Communication from Central Washington University. Renée
has her SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources)
designation through the Human Resource Certification Institute.
Renée has been active in Northwest Human Resources
Management Association / Society of Human Resource Management
(NHRMA/SHRM) for over 10 years. She has served on the
local Puget Sound Hotel Human Resources Association (PSHHRA)
board for over 5 years and has served as President for
the last 4 years.
Julie Roebuck holds a Masters Degree
in Human Resource Development and is a CEBS candidate.
She has been in the HR field for 9 years as a Recruiter,
HR Generalist and a Benefits & Safety Manager for
a nationwide corporation. She has both for-profit &
not-profit experience and is currently working in the
health care industry. She teaches Benefits I, Benefits
II. and HR Today at BCC and has been doing so since June
of 2004."
Mary Summers, SPHR possesses
over 20 years of experience in the field of human resource
management with a particular expertise in talent acquisition,
training/development, and performance management. During
her career which spans companies within the high tech,
manufacturing, and service sectors, she has hired over
500 people in positions ranging from entry level to executive.
She is currently a certified career consultant with a
global career management firm and has facilitated over
two hundred career transition workshops.
A Pennsylvania native, Mary is a graduate of West Chester
University in West Chester, PA where she earned a Bachelor
of Arts degree in English with a minor in Business. She
subsequently completed courses toward an Masters in Business
Administration (MBA) at Widener University in Chester,
PA.
